We have been able to bring 43 dogs into the rescue in 2022, thanks in huge part to our shelter partners, vet clinic partners and volunteers. We currently have 40 dogs in foster homes under our care, which includes monthly preventatives and all vetting costs. The requests for animals in need has not declined during this time, however. Vetting costs are up and donations are down due to the economy. In the 4th quarter of 2022, we find that we are still feeling the issues from the past two years. Regardless of the reason, AABR volunteers are willing to step up to help these dogs get healthy and find a home that is well-matched to their personalities and needs. Some dogs are surrendered due to medical issues that were too demanding or expensive for their families to support. Many of our dogs come to us severely neglected or abused. Over the past three years, we coordinated over 350 transports covering a combined total of approximately 225,000 miles to connect dogs with temporary foster care, forever families or other rescue organizations. Between owner surrender requests and callouts from shelters across the country, we receive more than 20 requests for assistance each week. We have been very successful in placing bonded pairs, seniors and medical needs dogs and we are very proud of that. Our current volunteer base covers over 30 states, although we got our start right here in Minnesota.ĪABR has placed close to 750 Boxers with forever families over the past 8 years, and we have had 32 adoptions so far in 2022. AABR is an all-volunteer, foster home-based, donation-driven rescue that helps dogs directly through transport, foster and adoption, as well as indirectly by providing support for other Boxer rescues across the country. We look forward to hearing from you.Across America Boxer Rescue is 501(c)3 organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Boxer dogs across the US. If you could open your home and heart to one of these dogs that have gone through so much, then please check out our dogs needing homes page, and complete initial application in the first instance. You also need to be aware that they wont understand you at first, so will need time and patience, but these dogs have proved to be the most wonderful companions. Some of these dogs have never lived in a home and will need extra time adjusting, some have been in a home but not the way you and I understand it, so may need to learn even the most basic skills such as toilet training. We provide rescue back up to these dogs for the rest of their lives. We rely entirely on our supporters who fund raise tirelessly, to help with their transport, care and food, and also find homechecked homes. With the help of some fantastic people in the Balkans, we can give them a second chance. These dogs face very difficult lives, some with no food or shelter, kept on chains, unloved and unwanted, starving and uncared for. We are a small non profit organisation set up to help find homes for rescue Boxers from the Balkans.
